But I have straightened my hair numerous times (about twice a year) since I began the CG method awhile ago, and no it does not ruin my hair. (I straighten 1-3 times a year.) Especially since our CG hair is so moisturized and strong, one pass with a straightener does not phase it. It's when the hair comes into contact with heat over and over that it becomes dangerously damaged. You also should use leave in conditioner and a heat protectant whenever you use heat styles though.

Now as for the Deva Cuts, they are wonderful cuts. Going from a wet cut to a devacut is like opening your eyes to a whole new world. They are the best hair cuts I have ever gotten. ;) But... if you want to lose not a lot of hair you will have to find a stylist that will really trim your hair. I've mainly come into contact with stylists that are a bit more pushy and always cut off more than I want... even when I specific 1/2 inch! Just look at the difference between my self trim shot and my hair cut shot up there. But your mileage may vary with a different stylist.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02823015960272964960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860856324493011730.post-88524164142433125952014-01-07T19:47:53.909-04:002014-01-07T19:47:53.909-04:00You have the best hair..and it looks fantastic str...You have the best hair..and it looks fantastic straight too. But I have a couple of questions for you. A. The Curly Girl Book says to NEVER< EVER use a hot iron or a blow dryer. Did you ruin your hair at all after flat ironing it straight (I am dying to wear my hair straight every now and then but since I started the Curly Girl way, I haven't done so in over three months. B. My hair is now past my shoulders but I'm scared to get a Deva Cut b/c I'm afraid too much will be cut off..just how important is that cut for length. Thanks for any information you can give me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11162137913558958268noreply@blogger.com
